Former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin is preparing to move the Telangana High Court to challenge the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Ombudsman’s recent directive to remove his name from the North Stand of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal. Azharuddin has described the order as unjust and deeply disrespectful, asserting that he will not allow his name to be dragged through the mud without a fair fight.

The directive was issued by Justice (Retd) V Eswaraiah, who serves as both the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer of the HCA. The decision came in response to a petition filed by the Lords Cricket Club, a member unit of the HCA, which alleged that Azharuddin had misused his position as the then-President of the association by taking unilateral decisions.
