Mid-market Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are set to generate 40,000 new jobs in India by the end of 2026, expanding their workforce to over 260,000, according to ANSR data shared with The Economic Times.

Around 120 new mid-sized GCCs are expected during this period, spanning software, banking, finance and accounting, insurance, and retail. These centres are being set up by global firms with annual revenues between $300 million and $2 billion.

Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Gurugram will be key hiring hubs, with in-demand roles including:

  • AI/ML engineering
  • Data analytics
  • Cloud engineering
  • Cybersecurity
  • Full-stack development
  • Product management
  • Solution architecture

Non-tech roles in finance, supply chain, procurement, and digital marketing are also in demand.

Their catchment pool of talent is from GCCs, startups, product companies, and the top 8–10% of the service provider landscape, who could become a site leader for a mid-sized company,” said Smitha Hemmigae, MD at ANSR.

Unlike tech giants, mid-market GCCs operate with tighter budgets, focusing on cost-efficiency and rapid digital transformation as they scale in India.
