Shabbir Ali urges minorities to prioritize education, reduce dropouts, and support Telangana’s inclusive “Integrated Young India Schools” initiative for equal opportunity.
Advisor emphasizes reducing dropout rates, strengthening community-school collaboration, and supporting Telangana’s new “Integrated Young India Schools” initiative
Hyderabad: Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday urged the minority community to place education at the center of their priorities, stressing that real empowerment begins with learning. Speaking at a programme commemorating Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, he highlighted the pressing need to curb school dropout rates and encouraged parents, teachers and community leaders to work collectively to ensure consistent attendance and academic discipline. “True social reform starts in the classroom,” he stated.
Shabbir praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s ambitious “Integrated Young India Schools” project, which aims to bring minority, SC, ST and BC students together on shared campuses to foster equality, harmony, and inclusive learning. A total of 76 campuses have already been approved, with 121 more in the pipeline.
He extended his congratulations to the newly appointed Minorities Welfare Minister Md. Azharuddin and expressed optimism about the government’s upcoming welfare initiatives. Shabbir also noted that previous administrations failed to prioritize minority education, and reiterated that Maulana Azad’s belief in progress through knowledge remains the guiding principle for future policy.

RTC Strike Intensifies in Telangana: College Students & Public Hit Hard
RTC strike disrupts college students and commuters across Telangana, increasing travel costs, absenteeism, and daily hardships amid reduced bus services.
The ongoing RTC strike across Telangana is continuing to disrupt daily life, with its impact now being felt more sharply by college students and the general public. While schools are currently closed due to summer holidays, colleges remain functional—creating a major challenge for thousands of students dependent on public transport.
Protests at depots like Jeedimetla Bus Depot have led to reduced bus services, leaving commuters stranded or forced to seek costly alternatives. College students, especially those traveling from outskirts and rural areas, are struggling to attend classes regularly. Many are either missing lectures or spending significantly more on autos and private transport.
The situation is equally difficult for office-goers and daily wage workers, who rely heavily on RTC buses for affordable commuting. With fares of autos and cabs rising due to demand, the financial burden on common people has increased considerably.
Parents and students are expressing frustration, as there is no uniform relief—schools are shut for holidays, but higher education continues without transport support. This imbalance is adding to stress, attendance issues, and academic disruption.
Amid the unrest, K. P. Vivekanand has backed the RTC workers, criticizing the government’s response and urging immediate resolution of their demands.
Until a solution is reached, it is the everyday commuter—particularly college students—who remain the worst affected in this ongoing deadlock.
